The Glorious Works of Wendy Randall
- When a chairman of the board of a well-known entertainment company needs three rooms at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas for the night of a major boxing match, money is no object.
The entire town is completely sold-out but the person calls Wendy to get it done. She is able to do it, despite the fact that casinos only invite their "high rollers" on this night, those with a minimum credit line of $50,000, and insist that they play this line. They do not care about "A" list people who come in for the night to see a fight; the casinos would rather have the rooms empty.
- When an executive learns that he must leave his office immediately and fly to Paris to meet the chairman of a bank who has agreed to invest millions of dollars into his company and he
has no time to go home and pack, what does he do?
He phones Wendy and gives her his suit measurements, including belt size, shoe size, shirt size, and his credit card number. When his plane lands in Paris, the limo driver is waiting with a designer custom-made suit, as well as a shirt, tie, belt, shoes and socks for him to change into while the driver takes him straight to the bank for the meeting.
- When a client needs to be in several cities on the same day for urgent meetings and his schedule is too tight to take commercial flights, he phones Wendy who charters a plane and
arranges for on-board catering.
Upon landing, a limousine service meets him at the gate, and using the directions he has been previously been giving, drives the client where he needs to go and waits for him as directed.
- When an executive travels to a convention anywhere in the world and needs to entertain foreign clients by inviting them to a cocktail party, sit-down dinner or any other type of
reception, what does he do?
He phones Wendy who immediately scouts out the hottest place to hold the party, whether it be a hotel, restaurant, or club. She also researches what the foreign attendees like to eat and drink, arranging all details with the catering department, including floral arrangements. She then goes on-site to facilitate the function.
- If someone travels to an unfamiliar destination and needs to entertain clients, purchase art or jewelry, set up a meeting room space or needs special electrical conduits for a computer
or any type of presentation equipment, what does he do?
He phones Wendy. With her worldwide contacts, she will arrange for a legitimate art or jewelry dealer and confirm that the hotel is compatible with the proper electrical equipment.
- What does one do when he and his wife are planning to take the QE 2 to celebrate their wedding anniversary and he wants to surprise her with a fur coat draped over a chair upon arrival
to their presidential suite? He phones Wendy who contacts the chief purser and then personally flies to the ship and delivers the fur coat to the suite prior to their sailing.
- What does one do when he decides to surprise his girlfriend by taking her to Hawaii, proposing to her, then getting married on that day or the next on the 18th hole of the golf course?
He phones Wendy, who arranges for a Buddhist priest, gets all of the paperwork to the client in advance, and arranges with the golf course to block off the 18th hole for a sunset ceremony. On the day before the wedding, Wendy, as instructed, arranges for the marriage announcements to be federal expressed or hand delivered to family and friends.
- What does one do when he decides, at the last minute,
that he would like to go to the Cannes Film Festival and stay in the very best suite, or attend the Grand Prix in Monte Carlo, insisting on the one bedroom suite with the terrace to watch the cars race by, or attend the Paris Air Show, or go to Wimbledon and sit in the 7th row center court reserved seats on the day of Men's Finals? He phones Wendy.
- What does one do when his wife's birthday occurs during their trip to India and he wants to surprise her with a special party?
He phones Wendy. She has them staying at The Palace which overlooks the Taj Mahal and she arranges for 5000 lights to be lit all evening, an audience with the Mahraja, a private party featuring the local dancers doing their native birthday dance, etc.
- What does one do when a movie is over-budget and a large silverfish van needs to be transported from Sicily to New York and a commercial airline wants to charge $90,000 for the job?
He phones Wendy and she arranges for a product placement deal using the cargo transportation company in the movie in lieu of transporting the van.
